Mr Renny Yeo

Biography

Mr Renny Yeo is Director of Singapore Cable Manufacturers Pte Ltd (a developer and manufacturer of cable solutions for various industries all over the world) and a Senior Advisor to the CEO of Draka Holding N.V.; The Netherlands. He is also Chairman of Associated Cables Pvt Ltd (India).

Mr Yeo has been serving in Council with SMa for more than 20 years and his last appointments in SMa before being elected as President were Vice-President and Chairman for the Trade & Investment Function Committee and Senior Advisor for the Electrical & Electronics Allied Industries Industry Group.

In his personal capacity, Mr Yeo is currently a Non-Executive Director of Oakwell Engineering Ltd, and a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees. He holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Southampton College of Technology, UK. He also holds a Master in Management from Asian Institute of Management, Philippines.

He has more than 30 years of working experience in the field of electrical engineering and cable industries. He is a full member of the Singapore Institute of Directors. He was a former Board member of Building and Construction Authority (3/05 – 3/07), Member of the Productivity & Standards Board, Director of PSB Corporation Pte Ltd (until 24/3/06).

Mr Yeo currently sits on several government committees, including as a Member of the Standard Council (SPRING), the Deputy Chairman of The Singapore National Committee of The International Electrotechnical Commission, the Chairman of Electrical & Electronic Product Standards Committee (SPRING), the Committee Member of the Singapore’s Advisory Committee – Exporter Development Program, Member of Water Network 3rd Panel, Member of the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC) Founding Board, Member of the Economic Strategies Committee (ESC) Subcommittee on Fostering Inclusive Growth, the Member of the Customs Advisory Committee, and the Council Member of Singapore Business Federation. He is also the President of Dunearn Tech-Greenridge Alumni Association and School Advisory Committee Member of Greenridge Secondary School.

For his national contribution, Mr Yeo was conferred the public service medal of Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (PBM) by the Singapore President in 2000.
