Mass manufacturing technologies have closed the quality gap so much that very often, buyers can’t tell the difference between one product from another. The only thing that stands in the way of this homogenization process is the brand. The brand (and brand loyalty) is what protects companies from the potential loss of sales. But today, the situation is reversed. Brands have become so valuable that they need protection. Tony Yeo will share with you the different strategies you can use to protect your brand as well as pitfalls that you must avoid.
Biography
Tony has been with Drew & Napier for the past 15 years. He became a Partner in 1997, and then a Director after Drew & Napier corporatised on 1 May 2001. Tony has been nominated in the Legal Who’s Who Singapore, an independent guide to top legal practitioners in Singapore by Asian Legal Business. He is recommended among Asia’s top lawyers as a “Shining Light” in ALB’s Hot 100 for his successful representation of Trek Technology and its ThumbDrive patent enforcement.
Tony co-heads the Biomedical Sciences Practice Group and is a member of the Examination Committee of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) for registered patent agents.
Tony is a litigator and has an active court practice as an advocate. He has been the lead counsel in many complex litigation cases including numerous patent infringement cases.
His areas of practice are Intellectual Property Litigation, Banking Law and General Commercial Litigation. He does Patent, Trademark and Copyright Litigation and Intellectual Property enforcement work. His Civil and Commercial Litigation practice includes Banking Litigation and Contractual Disputes.
