Biography

Elly Sim is the Founder and Director of Jan & Elly. She has a Bachelor of Science in Child Development & Psychology (USA), is a Member of IRA (USA) and a Former Committee Member of NAEYC (Denton, Texas, USA)

Since 1995, Jan & Elly has provided progressive-minded, savvy parents with a fun-filled, comfortable environment for their kids to learn Phonics, English Creative Writing and English for PSLE. Jan & Elly is focused on making sure that English language learning and fun come together in a wonderful synergy. Jan & Elly has more than 12 years of experience and research in children’s education and development.

Jan & Elly specialises in English and Phonics. It began by offering Phonics classes and is well established in that field. Recognising the importance of excellent communication skills in English, Jan & Elly has established strong programmes in reading, comprehension, writing and presentation skills. These include specialised English curricula for kids in lower- and upper-primary school and focused classes preparing students for their English PSLE.

Jan & Elly combines an up-to-date, results-oriented curriculum with creative teaching methods and class activities. Through constant research and participation in international conferences on education, its team of dedicated teachers and in-house curriculum specialists source the best programmes and practices from around the world, and customises them to local requirements, taking every care to keep their curricula relevant and contemporary.
