Mr Azhar Khalid is a Senior Editor of the Business Desk at MediaCorp News Hub, the first convergent newsroom in Asia. News content here is shared across MediaCorp’s multiple media platforms including TV, Radio, Print and Interactive. Mr Khalid’s key responsibility is providing business news content for the business section of TODAY newspaper, as well as for 938LIVE radio station.

Prior to his role at MediaCorp, Mr Khalid was the President of Publishing at The Lexicon Group, a magazine publishing firm with titles ranging across different genres such as lifestyle, business, parenting and homes, among others. He was also the Managing Editor of Smart Investor, which was one of the titles belonging to the group.

Mr Khalid has a wealth of journalistic experience having been a correspondent for the Money Desk of The Straits Times for several years. His area of focus was reporting on companies, markets and other general business news.

Mr Khalid’s career in journalism is based upon a strong foundation and knowledge of financial markets. He was previously an equities analyst with a local equities research firm. He later joined a Malaysian-based boutique fund management company as a licensed fund manager.

Mr Khalid holds a Master of Science (Strategic Studies) from the Nanyang technological University, a Master of Commerce (Accounting) from the University of Queensland, Australia and a Master of Social Sciences (Economics) from the National University of Singapore.
